Upside Food is one of more than 100 startups investing in cultured meat, Good Meat already offers cultured chicken in Singapore. The release
On Saturday, July 1, 2023, UPSIDE Chicken became the first cultured meat sold to consumers in the U.S., the product was offered at a restaurant in San Francisco as part of a tempura dish created by chef Dominique Crenn’s team. In a post on the brand’s Linkedin, you can see the product launch.
Future
The market is betting that the next country that will release cultured meat for sale will be Japan. I believe that we still have many steps to take so that cultured meat can compete with traditional meat, but the American release is a great step forward for these steps to occur more quickly.
