Apple announced on June 5th what it called its first space computer. This is the long-awaited virtual reality glasses – the Apple Vision Pro. The launch took place during the traditional conference organized by Apple Inc., the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which takes place annually in California. The technology, which will be available in the US in 2024, has a two-hour battery life and the visionOS operating system. The Apple Vision Pro works by eye interaction, has iris unlock, EyeSight display and other features. According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, this new toy “perfectly blends the real world and the virtual world”. As presented at the event, the headset has several cameras, which track the surrounding environment, and a Digital Crown – a button that can be turned or pressed to perform different tasks. And speaking of it, the Digital Crown, on the Apple Vision Pro, will have the function for the user to switch between two modes: the first that mixes reality with the virtual world, showing the apps suspended in the air and also the people around; and the second, which takes you to a completely virtual environment. In Environments mode, the immersion becomes greater and the user can adjust their degree of immersion.
Anyone who likes the novelty and is interested in purchasing the product should shell out the trifle of US$ 3,499. Pricing for Brazil has yet to be released. Cook also said that the new glasses allow seeing, hearing and interacting with digital content as if the person were in the same physical space. It is controlled by hands, eyes and voice.
